Adoption, outlook and the capability gap between chains and independents.
Sector-level AI adoption in tourism businesses is high — around seven in ten — but the headline hides a size effect that shows up in every property-level survey.
Chains report materially better confidence, better preparedness and better capability than independents, and the gap widens as properties get smaller. The same pattern appears in cybersecurity readiness, where large properties report 94% preparedness against 60% for properties with fewer than ten staff.
For independent properties the practical risk is not being replaced by AI. It is being left out of the answer because nobody maintained the structured, current, machine-readable facts a model needs to name them.
