Measured by running a fixed prompt set across engines on a schedule and recording which brands appear. It is the closest equivalent to a ranking in generative search, with two differences: it is probabilistic rather than positional, and it varies by engine and by week. A single spot check tells you almost nothing; a tracked series tells you whether you are gaining or losing ground.
